because solution Y is an acid...when reacts with alkali...produce salt n water..

Because that is for neutralisation.
B because solution Y has a low pH value therefore it is a strong acid.
Hence reacts with an alkali to form salt and water. Rolling Eyes

Soluton with pH value of 1

pH value of the soulution suggest it's an acid.

Only alkali/presence of hydroxide ions and make the phenolphthalein turns pink.

solution Y tuh consider as acid sbb pH value 1..
so,

A. only weak acid produce low concentration of H ion in water

C. phenolphthalein turns pink when react with alkali. tapi solution Y tuh acid

D. solution Y is strong acid so, it ionise completely in water..

the answer is B sbb acid react with alkali produce salt and water.. Wink
